Description

This is a book or magazine about tanks/AFVs and/or military modeling.

Motofumi Kobayashi is held in high esteem for his realistically-styled comics based on the artistic line drawing technique. He draws many works entirely on historical and fictional military matters. This particular epic is his life’s work focusing on the Russo-German War, the most gigantic and savage war in history. The story is based on some famous documentaries written by Paul Carell and others. Thanks to his thorough reaserch with historical photos, the weapons, landscapes and specific persons are drawn up very realistically. One will find the pictures in front are what one had been imagined inside the brain when reading those documentaries. The second volume begins at “Operation taifun” (the German attack on the Russian capital, Moscow) and tells of the series of desperate battles in the severe cold and mud, and the following Russian counter attack in the winter of 1941/42. Also includes the war chronicle of the Knight’s Cross Holder, Hermann Bix, who belonged tp 4. Panzerdivision and who fought in Russia till the end of the War.
