British Universal Carrier Track (1/35 RPM TKS tracks)

This is a track kit for detailing tanks or other armored vehicles.

Here’s a very clever detail-up parts set. What we have here are actually RPM’s 1/35 scale TKS tankette tracks…that some ingenious modeler discovered would work perfectly on Tamiya’s 1/48 scale Universal Carrier kit! As it turns out, the TKS tracks are the spitting image of the Universal Carrier tracks, and in 1/35 scale match the 1/48 scale Universal Carrier track size perfectly. A great way to increase the realism of the Tamiya kit!

Since the Tamiya kit features the tracks and running gear molded as one piece, you’ll have to cut off the Tamiya tracks to install the RPM tracks, first fitting the Tamiya tracks and running gear to the hull and marking the positions of the running gear pieces. Reattach the running gear, add the tracks as per the instructions, and there you go! A great and inexpensive way to “power up” your Tamiya kit!
