The ZSU-2-4 is an anti-aircraft tank developed in the USSR. “ZSU” is an abbreviation of a Russian phrase meaning “self-propelled anti-aircraft system,” and the Soviet policy was to give air defense weapons nicknames derived from the names of rivers; the ZSU was nicknamed “Shilka” after the river of the same name. Adopted in 1964, it was first unveiled at the Revolutionary Military Parade in 1965. After that, many were provided to the Eastern countries and pro-Soviet countries in the Middle East, and they are still in operation in many countries.
