The Type 16 maneuver combat vehicle is the latest wheeled tank destroyer of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, which has been deployed since FY 2016. Equipped with 105mm gun as a main armament, it has rapid movement and strong firepower. After it entered service with the 15th and the 42nd Rapid Deployment Regiment in 2018, it has been deployed nationwide and become a main weapon of Rapid Deployment Regiment. The 10th and 22nd Rapid Deployment regiment were formed in 2019 and reconnaissance motorcycles have been deployed as information platoon.
