1/72 Italian Benelli M36 Three-wheeled Motorcycle

Description

This is a resin-cast military vehicle model kit.

The standard military-type Benelli was the 500cc VLM model based on the Benelli M36 tricycle. The M36 was adopted by the army in 1936 to accelerate the mechanization of infantry units (especially Bersaglieri). This tricycle underwent shooting tests during the Spanish Civil War and was also used to tow the Breda (20 mm anti-aircraft gun). This machine was highly regarded by soldiers for its robustness. Special police and mechanized cavalry also rated it highly.
It had a top speed of 72.6 km/h and a payload capacity of 400 kg. The tricycle was equipped with a 493.6 cc single-cylinder engine (13 horsepower at 4,500 rpm). It was not only used for transporting ammunition. In places where a special towing hitch was installed, the machine was transformed into a towing vehicle for the Cannone da 47/32 Mod 35 (anti-tank gun). It was widely used on various battlefields during World War II. The M36 was also used as a mobile radio center and as an anti-aircraft mount equipped with an 8 mm machine gun on a tripod.
