The Panzer I anti-aircraft tank is based on the Panzer I tank A, which was the first tank mass-produced by Germany after World War I, and is equipped with a 2cm Flak38 anti-aircraft gun instead of a turret. It was mainly operated in the early stages of World War II to counter oncoming enemy aircraft. The Flak38 anti-aircraft gun, one of the masterpiece anti-aircraft guns of World War II, was first adopted in 1940. It is said to have a caliber of 2cm, a firing rate of up to 450 shots per minute, and an effective range of about 2,200 meters. In addition to being mounted on the Panzer I, it was also mounted on half-tracks and various other vehicles, and was widely used as a self-propelled anti-aircraft gun.

This model kit from Dragon accurately reproduces the characteristic undercarriage and body shape unique to the Panzer I. The front armor plate is a familiar “laser edge” part, with a realistic thinness and a sharp finish. The inside of the driver’s seat is accurately represented, and the German Army’s masterpiece anti-aircraft gun, the 2cm Flak38, is reproduced in detail. The Flak38 can be assembled with any of three different barrel types; the mechanical finish, including the shield, is eye-catching.
