The Panzer IV tank, which was known as the German Army’s workhorse during World War II and was produced and deployed in large numbers, was known for its high reliability, and its hull was used to create variations to suit the war situation. In the late war, a self-propelled anti-aircraft tank equipped with an anti-aircraft gun was planned and produced in order to ensure combat capabilities against enemy aircraft. One of them, Ostwind, is equipped with a masterpiece anti-aircraft gun 3.7cmFlaK43 in a hexagonal open-top turret on the body of a Panzer IV. It was highly effective against not only anti-aircraft target, but also ground targets. An order was placed for 100 more of this tank in August 1944, but only 43 were actually produced.
