This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.

Now the traditional design of the tank is almost at an end. A powerful 120mm gun, impenetrable front armor, and a high-powered engine that guarantees high speed and agility are only the bare necessities. Those characteristics that build up combat performance are enhanced by sophisticated information technology devices and electro-optics. The US M1A2 Abrams is the ultimate form of this famous tank, and Tamiya’s choice of this superb MBT is natural after the recent action in the Middle East. The parts are tailored for the M1A2 and its brother vehicle, the M1A1HA (Heavy Armor). Turret parts are newly tooled; the tracks (rubber belt type) are of the latest “Big-Foot” style. All the parts unique to these two models, such as the turret bustle rack, commander’s cupola, smoke dischargers, CITV sight, etc., are newly tooled as well. Proving the fact of their thorough research, Tamiya added parts for the MCD (Missile Counter Device), which was equipped on the USMC M1A1s alone and of which little information is known. Of course, accessory parts such as the tank crew’s ammo cans, bags and bed rolls that normally decorate a tank, and two new figures in the latest uniform, are included, for the makings of a terrific diorama. The illustrations explaining how to store accessories are also interesting. Five sets of decals are included, for OIF and Kosovo PKF.
