This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.
The name of the Japanese painter Yoshiyuki Takani is well-known by middle-aged modelers; he has illustrated hundreds of tanks, combat aircraft and fighting ships since the late 1960’s. His work is distributed worldwide through the box art of several Japanese model manufacturers like Tamiya, Nichimo etc. His illustrations are impressive, persuasive, and have been influencing many of us for a long time, especially tank modelers. One can feel the breath of the soldiers, the cold of the thick and massive tank armor and even the tension of the battlefield, through his works. From the point of view of today’s knowledge-rich modeler, the older works contain many faults, largely due to the shortage of information in the 1960’s-1970’s, but this does not at all tarnish the shine of his works. As an art, it lives! This set is a tribute to all AFV modelers who grew up up with 1/35 scale tank models and Mr. Takani’s box art, and who love the hobby still. The box contains : one German Pz.IV ausf.F1/F2 kit, with newly-drawn box art entitled “Pz.IV in the dusk”; four each of B3 and B4 size color posters (rolled in a cardboard tube); newly edited print of “Dengeki! Doitsu Sensha Gundan” (Blitz! German Panzer Korps), all in black and white (32pp), which has been an AFV bible for boys since published in 1973; and a new color booklet (24pp, 210 x300mm) entitled “Sensya Gahou” (Tank Pictures). Everything is packed in a beautifully-printed cardboard carton with an outer carton case. A great collection for AFV enthusiasts!
