This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.

Another great Sherman release from Tasca! Taking their recent “Easy Eight” Sherman kit, they’ve created a Japan Ground Self Defense Force version, with rubber chevron tracks and other details. This is a great kit not only for armor modelers, but for fans of the Toho Godzilla movie series as well, since this tank was prominently featured in many battles between giant monsters and the JGSDF!

Here’s a rundown of the kit specs, from the Tasca Website:

• The model includes accurately reproduced double-pin double-block T84 tracks.
• Includes equipment used in post war modifications such as the larger rear deflector, external telephone box and first aid kit.
• Options include a retooled larger type of engine deck hatch hinge, or a conventional deck hatch.
• Includes a realistic reproduction of the canvas mantlet cover.
• HVSS suspension has movable parts to reproduce swinging action of the suspension.
• Upper hull is the late version with top front armor and wide positioned tow hooks.
• Late model 76mm gun turret modified with the oval loader’s hatch.
• Includes choice of two types of 76mm guns, one with muzzle break and one without.
• The cupolas vision blocks includes accurately reproduced transparent parts.
• Photo-etched metal parts for periscope guards and light guards are provided.
• Includes an M2 machine gun mounted on the turret.
• Includes six types of JGSDF markings.
