This is a type of track suitable for use on various vehicles, including the M3 Stuart, M5, and M8 self-propelled guns.
These tracks, without rubber pads and featuring attached cleats, were used by the original U.S. Army as well.
However, they were more commonly utilized on vehicles of the Free French Forces that received M5 and M8 vehicles, especially on the European front.
