The Bergepanther Type G was developed in Germany as a vehicle to recover large tanks that became incapacitated; it was based on a remodeled Panther tank. The turret was not installed, and a 2cm cannon was mounted in front of the hull; it was equipped with a winch and spade for recovery. At first, the D/A body was used, but from the fall of 1944, it was changed to the G type.
