Tamiya’s model kit of the German/Italian Army staff car, the 508CM Coloniale, is back! The 508CM Coloniale was a military passenger car used by Italian and German troops during World War II. With a light two-wheel drive, excellent suspension, and a 32-horsepower engine, it demonstrated driving performance of 90km/h. It was deployed on a wide range of fronts, especially on the North African Campaign; it was often used for contact and reconnaissance of Italian military officers. After the surrender of Italy in September 1943, the German Army captured and used a large number of Coloniales; some were refurbished to German specifications.

Tamiya’s model kit accurately reproduces the Coloniale’s functional appearance with its flat body and large-diameter tires with a delicate mold. The interior and ladder frame are also finished with a three-dimensional effect; the engine is precisely reproduced. The engine hood and driver’s door can be opened and closed; the hood can be built either folded or opened. German military specification parts such as the Notek light and license plate are included; two Italian soldiers and three German driver figures are included too.
