The M4 medium tank is a 30-ton class tank that boasts high mobility and firepower, developed and manufactured in the United States during World War II. The M4A1 is a type with a cast monolithic upper hull, whose mass production began in February 1942, immediately after America entered the war. Equipped with the same air-cooled radial engine as the M4, the M4A1 had less interior space compared to the welded steel body of the M4, but had better bullet evasion. The external features of the later model include a different mantlet shape, cast one-piece gear cover, a starting wheel without cutout holes, auxiliary armor plate on the sides of the hull, traveling lock equipment, and more.
