This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.

Bandai went deep into their closet of old toolings to dig out this kit, but a lot of people are happy. Originally, Bandai’s 1/15 AFVs were all remote-controlled kits (the kind with a wire leading to a control box), but they have chosen to release only the Tiger I in its original form. Even so, with a little effort, any of the other three can be easily converted into a remote or radio-controlled kit, as the die-cast suspensions are still fully-functional (the motors are not included, however, despite a notation on the box that says they are). For those people not interested in “action” modeling, these huge kits will certainly command attention sitting on any shelf full of puny 1/35 AFVs!

The large size of these kits will make shipping from Japan expensive, however. Expect around of 9,000 yen shipping for the Tiger I, and 6,000 – 7,000 yen for its smaller cousins.

Bandai is only going to ship these once for the foreseeable future, so orders should be placed as soon as possible to guarantee availability.
