Description

This is a resin-cast military vehicle model kit.

Beaver Corporation releases their third collaboration with Fox One Design! This set includes a Tachibana Nakajima Kikka aircraft, Type 5 Chi-Ri tank, and a Type 95 small freight car; decals are also included.

The Nakajima Kikka in this kit can reproduce the folded wing action. This twin-engine jet aircraft developed by the Japanese Navy at the end of World War II is Japan’s first purely domestic jet aircraft. In 1944, Japan was developing a high-performance reciprocating engine with a supercharger for flying at high altitudes; the fuel supply situation was worsening, so they had to use low-quality fuel and low-quality lubricating oil. Nakajima Aircraft was instructed to develop a land attack aircraft equipped with a simple, high-performance jet engine with a small number of parts. It was decided to obtain technical data on the Messerschmitt Me262 being developed by Germany, but the submarine transporting the data was sunk; the design drawings of the airframe and engine were lost, so the development has done entirely in Japan. Its first flight was in August 1945, but only two prototypes were completed by the time the war ended.

The Type 5 Chi-Ri medium tank in this kit is reproduced with the main gun mounted; the crew can be placed in the upper hatch. This tank was developed starting in July 1943 after the research policy of the Weapons Administration Headquarters changed from an emphasis on infantry direct cooperation to a focus on tanks. Other factors such as the increased weight and gun caliber allowed for medium tanks and armor thickness also played a part. The Type 5 Chi-Ri medium tank features many innovations for the time, and has heavy armor, a 75mm long-muzzle velocity gun, an electric turret swivel device, a high-power liquid-cooled engine, and a semi-automatic loading device. It was scheduled to be completed in March 1945, but only one prototype was partially built when the war ended.

The Type 95 small freight car is commonly known as Kuragne Shiki; this is a two-seater pickup version. A four-wheel-drive passenger car used for reconnaissance, communication and personnel transportation by the Japanese Army, the Type 95 was equipped with the first domestically produced four-wheel drive mechanism at the time. It demonstrated good running performance in mainland China and Southeast Asia; this kit reproduces the final production version of the two-seater pickup truck type. The 1944 model changed to a small freight vehicle.

This set of kits is made by a 3D printer. Please wash with a neutral detergent; using acetone may erode the parts. Please also avoid using absolute ethanol.
