1/35 German Jagdtiger Mid-Production Otto Carius

Description

This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.

Tamiya’s excellent Jagdtiger kit, re-released as a mid-production version, as commanded by German tank ace Otto Carius (the last AFV he commanded, actually). Includes mid-production specific parts like the hull side spare track hangars and links, side skirt hangars, and road wheels. Includes a figure of Lieutenant Carius himself, with two other figures…one on a DKW motorcycle. Other details are the same as the previous release: The rough-textured cast surface of the mantlet and uneven surfaces of the rolled armor plates of the hull are extremely well done. The interior features basic detail, including the fighting compartment floor. The main gun breech detail is very nicely done, and the sponsons are fully floored. Tracks are provided as both detailed one-piece flexible belts and excellent link-and-length injection-molded assemblies–your choice! Rear doors of the fighting compartment open and close. The road wheels are rendered in multiple parts for increased detail and realism. Another great feature of this kit is that the fighting compartment roof is a separate part.

This new release includes markings for five variations, focusing on vehicles of the 512th Heavy Antitank Battalion, and of course Lieutenant Carius’ steed!
