The Type 89 Armored Combat Vehicle was formalized in 1989 as Japan’s first full-scale infantry fighting vehicle. Equipped with a 35mm machine gun and Type 79 anti-tank guided bullets, the rear crew room with a gun port can accommodate seven soldiers.
