Description

This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.

The Sd.Kfz.251 is an armored personnel carrier developed by Hanomark based on a three-ton half-track. Its development began in 1937, and it entered production in 1939. Due to its high versatility, various types were produced according to the purpose of use, one of which was the Sd.Kfz.251/7, made as a vehicle for engineering troops. It was developed from the Sd.Kfz.215/5, which was also used for engineering troops; the 251/7 added a small assault bridge outside the vehicle. Some vehicles were also equipped with anti-tank guns. The basic Sd.Kfz.251 had four types: A, B and C, which adopted a complex multi-faceted body design, and D, which had a simplified design to increase production efficiency. More than 8,000 D-type vehicles were produced from 1943 to the end of the war, and many variations were made to support the mobility of German troops.

This model kit from Dragon can be built as any of three types: the normal armored engineer transport vehicle type, a type equipped with a 2.8cms.PzB41 anti-tank rifle instead of the MG42 in front, and a command vehicle type equipped with a Fu5 communication device and a star antenna. The unique body shape of the 251/7 and the assault bridge are carefully reproduced; the assault bridge is slide-molded for accurate reproduction of the shape and mounting brackets. In addition, parts such as a 2.8cm anti-tank rifle, Fu5 communication device and star antenna are highly realistic. Accessories such as tools for engineers and equipment such as mines are also included. The tool box on the side of the vehicle can be assembled opened or closed; the canvas that covers the rare part of the open-top body is made of DS material with a rich texture.
