The M48 was developed in the United States, and is a post-WWII first-generation main battle tank nicknamed “Patton.” The M48A5 replaces the existing M48A1-A3 main gun with a 53-caliber 105mm tank gun M68, which is a modified 105mm tank gun L7A1 developed in England; it also changes the coaxial machine gun to the M60E2, and replaces the power pack with the same one as the M60. This is the final model of the series. The modification to A5 gave this vehicle the combat ability of the M60 tank.
