Information on the L4500S & EMC Mines from Ding-Hao Hobby:
In the mid-1930s, to lessen logistics burden, the Germany Army tried to standardize the chassis for trucks. Three levels-light, medium, and heavy, chassis were standardized so that motor manufacturers could utilize their own engines and gearboxes on said standardized chassis. Five major standardized chassis were completed.
The production for Bussing-NAG 4500A/S did not cease until the end of the war, and a total of 15,000 were produced for all 500 and 4500 series.
In the year of 1920 after WWI, Germany restarted their research on tactical use of mines in naval warfare. The first contact mine after WWI , EMC I, was finished in 1924. The mine can by moored under the sea by a long cable tied with a heavy object. The surface of the mine was installed with 8 contact horns of each different direction. The mines would be detonated when the hull crashed against the mine’s contact horns. The watertight EMC II was improved to extend its service lifetime in 1936. There were 6 variants of its different ways of mooring. Its operational range of depth was 3 to 190 feet. The EMC II mine was the most widely used mine by German Navy during WWII.
