This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.
The Ferdinand (Elefant) is a German heavy tank destroyer from World War II that demonstrated overwhelming power with its long-barrel 71-caliber 8.8cm gun and heavy armor reaching up to 200mm. Developed by Dr. Porsche for the Tiger tank, the body was rejected in a competition with Henschel, but a new fixed battle compartment was installed, and a PaK43.2 71-caliber 8.8cm tank gun was also installed. It was characterized by its drive system with a unique mechanism called “engine power generation motor drive system.” From March to May 1943, 90 of this vehicle were produced using the body prepared at the time of the competition prototype. It was immediately put into the Kursk battle with the Soviet Union in July, and made a big impression with its power. After that, it continued to fight until the end of the war, including being dispatched to the Italian front and the defense of Berlin.
This model kit from Dragon marks the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Kursk! The model has a large fixed fighting compartment and a powerful body; aluminum parts are included for the gun barrel. The lower part of the hull and the battle room are each made in one piece to reproduce their unique shape. The suspension unit also firmly expresses the unique form of the Porsche type. The crawler tracks adopt the Magic Track for a realistic finish. The left and right fender parts are prepared with photo-etched parts that accurately express the tread pattern on the surface, and photo-etched parts are included for other details too. Decals by Cartograf are included for the 653rd Heavy Tank Destroyer Battalion and the 654th Heavy Tank Destroyer Battalion in Kursk in 1943. Order yours today!
