The KV-I was a nightmare for the German anti-tank and tank gun crews in 1941. Its thick armour easily deflected the German 37mm and 50mm armour piercing rounds, and its 76mm dual-purpose gun proved extremely dangerous. Tamiya has depicted the 1940 model, with a welded turret; this is the first choice from the KV-1 family in Tamiya’s 1/48 tank kit lineup. The model has the series-standard die-cast metal chassis and link-and-length injection plastic tracks with realistic sag molded in.
