This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.

The VBL (Vehicule Blinde Leger) is a light armored vehicle developed by Panhard and operated by the French Army. In 19788, the French Army announced the specifications of a wheeled armored car with a weight of 3.5 tons or less that could serve as both a reconnaissance and information-gathering vehicle, as well as a tank destroyer equipped with a MILAN anti-tank missile. A competitive trial was conducted with Panhard, and as a result, the Panhard chassis was adopted.

The body of this vehicle is as compact as possible with respect to the wheelbase, and the engine room is located at the front. To reduce costs, civilian components are used as much as possible, such as adopting the same XD3T in-line four-cylinder liquid-cooled turbocharged diesel engine as the Peugeot passenger car. There are two variations for the French Army: a reconnaissance/take point type and an anti-tank missile mounted type. Approximately 2,300 units have been produced, of which approximately 1,600 are used by the French Army as of 2006.
