The 5.5 inch gun first went into service with the Royal Artillery in North Africa in 1941 and was pulled by the famous four-wheel drive AEC Matador. The gun was handled by a team of ten men and fired on the 82lb shell.
This model will measure about 18.4cm long and 3.1cm wide when completed.
