This is a resin-cast figure or figure set for use with military dioramas or individual display.
“Chernozem” means “black soil” in Russian and is found across the Eurasian continent, stretching from Ukraine to Siberia. The fertile black soil tends to become muddy during early winter snowfalls and late winter snowmelt, which is reflected in the winter-themed figures, showing a period when the ground is not very stable.
This fourth set in the series depicts sappers cutting logs with a two-man saw, which has a handle at both ends. They wear caps and Telogreika jackets, and carry Mosin-Nagant rifles on their backs. The figures are modeled in the act of working together to saw the log. The saw is included with etched parts.
